Central Effects of TNFo on Thermogenesis and Fever in the Rat

چکیده

Intracerebroventricular (icv) injection of purified recombinant human tumour necrosis factor ol (TNFol, 4-8#g) in conscious rats, produced increases in colonic temperature (1.0~ and resting oxygen consumption (VO 2, 14%) which were maximal after 80-90 minutes. Pretreatment with propranolol (10 mg/kg s.c.) significantly inhibited the rise in VOa, and prevented the increase in body temperature. Icy injection of an antagonist to corticotropin releasing factor (ol-helical CRF 9-41, 25 #g), which prevents the pyrogenic and thermogenic actions of interleukin-1/3, did not influence the effects of TNFoc on temperature or VO2. Injection of a fragment of TNFol (113-130 amino acid sequence) did not affect body temperature or VO 2. TNFoc injection (icy) significantly increased brown adipose tissue (BAT) in vitro mitochondrial GDP binding, and this effect was slightly inhibited, but not prevented, by surgical denervation of the tissue, and was unaffected by pretreatment with ol-helical CRF 9-41. These data indicate that TNFol can stimulate thermogenesis by a direct central action. The effects are largely, but not totally, dependent on the sympathetic nervous system but, unlike the thermogenic actions of interleukin they do not require release of CRF.

Involvement of α-1-adrenergic receptors in central region of amygdala and the effects of cannabinoid agonist on inhibitory avoidance memory in male rats

Introduction: There are many similarities between memory impairment in patients suffering from Alzheimer and animals treated by Cannabinoids. The agonists of Cannabinoid receptors affect on a variety of memories and leanings. The present study aims to investigate the role of α-1-adrenergic receptors in central region of amygdala in state-dependent learning induced by WIN55,212-2 (cannabin...

The Protective Effects of Sufentanil Pretreatment on Rat Brains under the State of Cardiopulmonary Bypass

This study aimed to observe the protective effects of sufentanil pretreatment on rat cerebral injury during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) and to explore the underlying mechanism. Twenty-four male adult Sprague Dawley (SD) rats were divided into 4 groups. Then, the rat CPB model was established. A 14G trocar was inserted into the atrium dextrum. For rats in S1 and S5 groups, sufentanil (1 µg•kg-1...

Effects of Phoenix dactylifera extract and testosterone enanthate with and without resistance training on MFN2, FISS and DRP1 genes expression in liver of rat

Background: The use of testosterone enanthate has increased among athletes, especially in resistance disciplines. Considering the side effects of using testosterone enanthate, it seems necessary to find alternative methods. The present study compared the independent and interactive effects of resistance training, testosterone and palm pollen extract on mRNA expression of MFN2, FISS and DRP1 gen...

Evaluation of Lead Acetate Side Effects on Rat Hippocampus and the Effects of Vitamin C on These

Purpose: To investigate the effect of ascorbic acid against lead-induced neurotoxicity in the rat hippocampus. Materials and Methods: The heads of 40 male Sprague–Dawley rats were divided into 4 groups: normal, control, lead-treated and lead plus ascorbic acid-treated. Lead acetate (20mg/kg) was administered intraperitonealy to rats for 7days in third and fourth groups. During this period, rats...
